Can't say that I have, really. I mean... I've designed pieces where they would work well with words, and in some cases you can tell because I just solo, instead. I write a lot of pieces with certain emotions in mind, but I'm not much of a lyricist... Why do you ask?
Figured I should return the favor--plus, it's always good to see what other people are doing. You never know where your next inspiration could come from.
Yes, well as you may or may not be able to see, I am a writer, though I experiment with different mediums.lol
I tend to write a lot of poetry and song lyrics.^^
Okay. Today is October 10th. Jess's birthday is January 21st. Therefore, I have 3 and a little to finish this next album.
This one is so completely haphazard. I set out with a bunch of ideas, most of which I can't see myself following through on as I come up with new ideas. Anyway, let's look at this:
[x] Somewhere Out There --I was debating whether to keep this one or not until Jess actually referenced this song to me a few days ago. Score.
[-] Taki Gamala -- so while the low quality version is posted up her, sure enough the project file got erased when my computer crashed not too long ago. Bulllllshit. So I'll have to re-make this one, somehow.
[ ] Bluesy Riff -- right now, I'm intending to actually combine the intro with this so the former flows into the latter. Then, because I have absolutely nothing to do with this riff, I will use it either to go into Schism variations or Go Make a Difference
[x] Desert Song -- across the desert. Done. But, I'd love to find a different sample for the wind so it doesn't, you know, suck so much...
[ ] Rain song -- I have the basis of this laid out in a project file, but haven't really recorded much. I plan on using a bunch of harmonics aimlessly, but other than that, I've got nothing planned.
[ ] Lebanese Blonde Jam -- this will be either a cover of "Lebanese Blonde" by Thievery Corporation, or an improv piece done stealing their main riff. We'll see how it goes.
[x] Scooby Doo -- done!
[ ] Go Make A Difference -- this is actually a song I played for the campus choir. I made up a pretty fun riff for it, so I'd like to play with it and develop it if possible. But I've not started it yet.
[ ] Terminator -- this was based off a jam session I had with a friend here at school. He wanted to do something loosely based off of the Terminator theme. I'm not really familiar with the song, but we developed something unique out of that. Except, I don't know if I'll still do this because I don't remember shit about how this went, really.
[ ] Flange & Grind -- like the last one, this piece came from a jam session in which I used a deep flanger effect and then switched to a grind effect. I might ditch this one too, since I don't have a whole lot I can do with it. We'll see.
[ ] We Will Rock You -- I wanna do this one. It seems like it'd be fun. I'm just not sure how I'll go about it yet.
[ ] Haiku -- any voice actors out there wanna read some poetry for me? I wrote this piece so long ago that's designed to be ready with haiku. But, I have no mic, so I'm not sure what I'll do with this yet.
[-] Coming Home -- this one is pretty much done, except, it's really long and kind of repetitive and I haven't laid a 'vocal' track on it yet (meaning I haven't done a poor job of solo-ing for the entire length of the song yet)
[ ] Intro -- I'm gonna re-do this one.
[-] Taste and See -- another song I played for church. I liked it at first, and I'm almost done with it, but... I'm starting to hate it! I dunno what to do.
[x] Losing My Mind (Cracking at the Seams) -- wrote this whole thing tonight. Ridiculous.
[-] The first day of school -- this little piece I made up... I don't know what to do with it. I like it, but it's... it needs something? I'm not sure what.
Okay, um... please give feedback? Hahaha... no one ever does. Oh well. At least these journals help me keep track...
